Insufficiency is caused by Populist Subsidies and Low Taxes

Borneo Post, july11,2022. I have analysed this statement for a long time trying to find out the root causes. To me, it does not make sense that there should be any shortage, especially for such a long time. The root cause is the populist approach of Rajapaksa's family. subsidies and lower taxes, similar to the approach of Anwar Ibrahim and PH, which will be disastrous. Remove subsidies and impose more taxes, so there is no question of demand if you have no money for it. Cannot afford petrol? Walk. Not enough food, go fishing or plant yourself, instead of waiting for subsidised food. Cannot afford medicine? Then die because you cannot demand to get the best medicine and treatment that the world offers. It is not a question of not enough, but cannot afford. To solve it is simple. Let the rich pay full prices and taxes. Surely there is no more question of not enough. Dollarisation is one way. No money, no talk, but no more problem of insufficiency in Venezuela and Zimbabwe.
